Great Friendship – Shaun Norris and Rahil Gangjee

Great Friendship – Shaun Norris and Rahil Gangjee

Four-time Japan Golf Tour winner, Shaun Norris was chasing his fifer at Toride Kokusai Golf Club and for the first two days Shaun’s brother was caddying for him but when he fell ill just before the weekend, Shawn had to carry his golf bag on his own through a trolly for the weekend.

And after 72 holes, Shaun Norris was sharing the top spot with Scott Vincent and Tomoharu Otsuki so, the match went to playoffs and it was playoffs time thus, all players had finished their round apart from the leaders who were tied at -21.

India’s Rahil Gangjee had a great week in Tsukubamirai city as Rahil achieved the season-best finish of T11, therefore, Rahil and his caddie Rags were free and coincidently they were standing beside Shaun Norris, therefore, the South African asked “So I asked if Rags would like to help...?”

Rags and Rahil happily agreed as Rags caddied Shaun for the playoffs and Shaun won the playoffs to win his fifth Japan Golf Tour title in the last five years.
“It’s always nice to just have someone to talk to, especially in a playoffs situation,” said Shaun.
Shaun further added -
“We had a good time and spoke a lot, a lot more jokes than anything and that helps to keep a person calm…he is a great guy and good friend, really appreciate that he could help me.”

India’s Rahil Gangjee showed astonishing sportsman spirit on 23rd May 2021 to help Shaun Norris during a crucial stage of the event.
